Thursday 4th July 2019
To the Glow Show Company,
Thank you for this amazing sight that most of the students viewed from Papakura Central School sighted on Wednesday 26th June 2019.
As the soft music fades away, the lights darken down and a man starts to introduce the show, it was the Matariki glow show located at the Hawkins theatre. This magical sight happen because the Glow Show Company lavishly gave PCS 310 tickets.Usually, the tickets are $10 dollars per person but we just had to pay a gold coin donation. (I mean how cool is that?).The faces of the children were pulling during the appearance of the puppets was priceless and glowing just like the show. This Matariki show also taught the students Maori words like Tama nui te ra, Tawhirimatea and the classic Taniwha.
My favourite character was Mr Tutu the Taniwha.Mr Tutu was not afraid to embrace his feelings through song form. Most people (a.k.a. me) thought he was a sea snake because of the way he moved and looked. He voice was mesmerising deep and croaky. The glowing of his body reflected into my eyes.I’m guessing that sticks were used to operate this incredible figurine.
Two men and two young ladies put on this display. Most people would have thought it would have taken heaps of people to establish on such a big show but it only took four people. Practising for heaps weeks to go from theatre to theatre to perform such a sight. Thanks to the Glow Show Company for letting our school have a discount to attend to Matariki Glow Show.
This was an unforgettable moment.
From one of the attendees Kalahz.
